Welcome to ANT Neuro Educational Webinar Series!

Forms of neuromodulation including repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) are increasingly being used as treatment tools in clinical practice in psychiatry, especially in the management of patients with depression. The use of rTMS in the treatment of depression is now well established by a large series of randomised controlled trials that have demonstrated meaningful clinical effects. However, in this webinar we will discuss how the overall efficacy of rTMS can be improved by increasing the precision of application, especially through the personalisation of the method of treatment targeting and also potentially through the use of tools to personalise the frequency of stimulation.

The scientific presentation will be followed by a virtual product demonstration and a Q&A session.

Prof. Paul Fitzgerald is Professor of Psychiatry at Monash University and Director of the Epworth Centre for Innovation in Mental Health based at Epworth Camberwell. He is a qualified psychiatrist, with a Masters of Psychological Medicine and research PhD. His main clinical and academic interest is in the development, evaluation and clinical translation of new therapies for mental health conditions. His research program has been mainly focused on various forms of brain stimulation including TMS, tACS, magnetic seizure therapy and deep brain stimulation. Prof. Fitzgerald cofounded TMS Clinics Australia and he led an application to the Medicare Services Advisory Committee that has resulted in a recommendation that TMS treatment for depression be funded through Medicare in Australia. He is also a cofounder of Resonance Therapeutics, a company dedicated to developing a highly novel new treatment approach for patients with depression and other conditions.

We look forward to welcoming you to this webinar!
