About the speakers
Dr. Mahmoud Hassan,
Founder and CEO of MINDIG, Rennes, France
Mahmoud Hassan is a research scientist working on brain data analysis. He is the founder and CEO at MINDIG (https://mindig.io/), (France), a start-up company specialized in Electroencephalography (EEG) signal processing in health and disease. Dr. Hassan’s team develops new methods to analyze EEG with a specific interest in combining machine learning with brain signals. MINDIG’s ambition is to promote EEG as a clinical tool for assessing neurological and mental disorders. Dr. Hassan’s team includes young researchers in France and Lebanon and they are partnering with researchers, clinicians, and pharma industry worldwide. He is also an adjunct professor at Reykjavik University, Iceland, where he teaches neural data science and neural engineering.
Scientist at MINDIG, Rennes, France
Sahar Allouch is a research scientist at MINDIG (https://mindig.io/). She recently earned her joint PhD from Rennes University in France and Lebanese University in Lebanon for her work on the analytical variability in EEG-based functional networks. Her areas of expertise encompass EEG signal processing, the study of brain networks, and their applications in cognitive and clinical neuroscience.
Scientist at MINDIG (France) and postdoctoral fellow at CHUV, Lausanne
Ahmad Mheich is a postdoctoral researcher at CHUV Lausanne in Switzerland, affiliated with the 'Service des troubles du spectre de l'autisme et apparentés,' and an engineer researcher at MINDIG in France. He earned his Ph.D. in EEG signal processing from the University of Rennes. Currently, his focus is on analyzing EEG data collected from children with autism. Ahmad possesses expertise in EEG signal analysis and the exploration of brain networks.
PhD of Biomedical engineering, ANT Neuro Application Specialist
Dr. Fabio Barollo is a biomedical engineer and earned his joint PhD from Aston University (UK) and Reykjavik University (Iceland). His main research focus lies in the use of EEG to investigate the cortical mechanisms which regulate postural control, i.e., the sensorial-feedback system which allows us to maintain a balanced stance. His main experience involves EEG/EMG data analysis, source reconstruction, functional connectivity and brain network analysis. Currently, he is working for the Berlin-based medical technology company ANT Neuro (eemagine) as an application specialist.
PhD of Cognitive Neuroscience, ANT Neuro Application Specialist
Dr. Roman Vakhrushev is a neuroscientist interested in human visual and auditory sensory systems. During his Ph.D. in Göttingen, Germany, he investigated cross-modal reward mechanisms in early sensory systems. There he gave a series of lectures to university students on psychophysical methods, statistical analysis, and good practices in EEG experiments. Another range of his interests lies in attentional mechanisms, specifically, mechanisms of summary statistics and subliminal perception. Overall, Dr. Roman Vakhrushev has expertise in psychophysics, eye-tracking, and EEG.
