Welcome to ANT Neuro Educational Webinar Series!

Within the recent years, deep learning (DL) techniques have been applied to electrophysiological data. The power of the convolutional neural network-powered analysis seems especially promising for enhanced analysis of brain waves. The webinar gives an overview of the state-of-the-art techniques for using DL with electroencephalogram time-series for classification tasks. This includes an overview on the hard- and software requirements and the computational skills. The presenter will outline the usage of DL in mental disorders as well as the application for neuroscientific research in high sampling rate recordings, including pitfalls to avoid. The presentation will be followed by a virtual product demonstration and a Q&A session.

Our presenter, Dr. Sebastian Olbrich, earned his MD degree at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany. He is the co-founder of DeepPsy, a company that offers treatment personalization based on the individual biological profile of patients by analyzing EEG and ECG data. He is the Deputy Chief of the Center for Social Psychiatry at the Psychiatric Hospital of the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and is starting his new position as the Chief of the Center for Affective Disorders in August 2021. Among his other commitments, Dr. Olbrich has also been the President of the International Pharmaco-EEG Society (IPEG) since 2018.

We look forward to welcoming you to this webinar!
