Welcome to ANT Neuro Educational Webinar Series!
In this webinar, novel method to assess hemispheric language dominance in the surgery process of epileptic children will be discussed. The presenters will walk you through scalp electromagnetic fields to extra and intracranial stimulation.
The first presenter is Prof. Stefano Seri who is a Child Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist whose interest has been the development and clinical validation if functional imaging techniques to characterise intermediate phenotypes of developmental disorders. His main expertise is in the pre-operative evaluation of children with drug-resistant epilepsy from scalp and intracranial EEG recordings to functional mapping of eloquent cortex with intracranial MEG, fMRI and intracranial and transcranial magnetic stimulation. He has led Aston University clinical MEG activity for the last 15 years, and prior to that to was Professor of Developmental Neuropsychiatry and Director of the paediatric clinical neurophysiology unit in the University “Tor Vergata” in Rome, Italy.
The second presenter is Dr. Peter Bill who is a Consultant Clinical Scientist and Head of the Neurophysiology Department at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital. His main interests are pre-surgical evaluation of children with drug resistant epilepsy and is the clinical lead for the evoked potential service with specific interest in visual electrodiagnostics. He is a past chair of the Association of Neurophysiological Scientists, and is the Interim Regional Chief Scientific Officer for the Midlands supporting the response to Covid-19. Peter has an honorary lecturing role at Aston University supporting the provision of the Masters level Scientific Training Program in Neurophysiology.
The registration deadline is 24:00 (CEST) on November 12th.
