ment of Chronic Pain and Migraine: Current Status and Future Directions</a
 >\nThis is a past event\, but you can watch the recorded session from here
. Welcome to ANT Neuro Educational Webinar Series! In this webinar the aim
is to talk about improving the general understanding of the central mecha
nisms of pain modulation by explaining the therapeutic effects of low inte
nsity transcranial electrostimulation in the treatment of conditions such
as fibromyalgia\, chronic pain and migraine. In these disorders pathologic
al alterations of neural activity\, excitability\, and connectivity at mul
tiple sites of cerebral pain processing can be observed. This webinar will
be presented by Prof. Andrea Antal who holds a position as an extraordina
ry professor at the University of Medical Center in Göttingen\, Germany\,
head of the Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation Laboratory at the Department o
f Neurology and she is one of the world's leading experts on developing di
rect current (tDCS) and alternating current stimulation (tACS) protocols.
The focus of her research group is to introduce safe and individualized tr
anscranial brain stimulation protocols in the every-day clinical practice.
During the webinar the current state of the art of tDCS and tACS to manag
e pain will be discussed and future strategies to optimize stimulation’s
effects\, such as using the combination of protocols (e.g. tDCS and mindf
ulness meditation)\, will also be mentioned. ANT Neuro Education [Event ID
