DESCRIPTION:<a href="https://academy.ant-neuro.com/event/cognitive-neurosci
 ence-using-eeg-vr-3/register">Cognitive Neuroscience Using EEG-VR</a>\nThi
s webinar has ended. Stay tuned for similar events! Welcome to ANT Neuro E
ducational Webinar Series! The drive for more realism in psychological exp
erimentation has recently gained traction through the widespread availabil
ity of affordable virtual reality (VR) equipment and software. While cogni
tive psychology as well as clinical applications and rehabilitation are be
nefitting\, the use of VR in cognitive neuroscience is somewhat lagging be
hind. Here I will present past and ongoing work in my group\, describing v
arious studies using VR with concurrent EEG recordings that range from soc
ial interactions with virtual humans\, over confrontational scenarios and
decision making with authorized firearms officers\, to simulated navigatio
n and driving. We will discuss advantages and disadvantages of these combi
ned methods and ways to analyse EEG data. The presenter if Prof. Klaus Kes
sler who is a full professor of Psychology and the head of the Mental Neur
o-Chronometry lab in Psychology at UCD. After finishing his undergraduate
studies and PhD in Germany at Mannheim University\, Klaus was a postdoctor
al researcher at the University of Wales\, Bangor and at Duesseldorf Unive
rsity. Before joining UCD\, he was lecturer/senior lecturer at the Univers
ity of Glasgow and subsequently Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at Ast
on University. Klaus joined the School of Psychology at UCD as Full Profes
sor of Affective\, Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience in February 2022
. Klaus was co-Director of Aston’s brain imaging facilities and co-Direc
tor of the Aston Laboratory for Immersive Virtual Environments (ALIVE). Lo
oking forward to welcoming you to this webinar. ANT Neuro Education [ID: 0
